Introduction to Painting or Sculpture. 

 Choose either sculpture or painting for a 3 hour class.

All materials are included for this short workshop.

Still Life Painting in Oil

This provides a great introduction to the full process of oil painting from the Drawing (sight size method) to the Underpainting to the Dead Colour layer to the Final Details and Edges.  

You will be able to apply this method to paintings of all subjects including live models, landscapes, still life, and more!

Figure Painting from the live model is a wonderful experience. 

We will teach you how Draw the figure, to see and establish Values, to apply the Dead Colour layer, how to expand on the colour variations and temperatures and chroma,  and finally how to handle Details and Edges. 

We do recommend a minimum of 10  half day classes for this project.

Portrait Painting from the live model is a wonderful experience.    We do recommend a minimum of 10  half day classes for this project.

Old Master Copies are perfect for short workshops to teach you how the Masters used  Values, Colour, Edges and Composition to paint their masterpieces!

Figure or Portrait Sculpting from a plaster cast original is a great introduction to the process.

 It allows for all viewing angles to render the form and proportions of a portrait or figure  in clay using Frank's unique technique for capturing a likeness.

We do suggest a minimum of at least 10 half day classes for this workshop.

Optional casting of your final work in either bronze, resin or plaster

Casting and Mold-making

Learn to make your own molds and to cast your masterpiece in plaster or resin in the studio or make the mold in studio and we can arrange for our foundry to cast in bronze.

Short sessions of half days are best for this workshop to allow drying time between layers.
